"Battery Park City and the Authority are not just about the buildings – it’s about the character of the community that has developed over time. Public space has had a new renaissance in New York City, but here in Battery Park City is where it started."

Battery Park City Activates Emergency Snow Removal Plan

In preparation for the anticipated severe winter weather conditions, the BPC Parks Conservancy’s Snow Removal Plan has been activated to help ensure high pedestrian traffic areas are kept clear throughout the duration of the storm. Forty staff will be on site to address these priority areas, which include the Tribeca and Rector Street Bridges, the Battery Park City Ferry terminal, and the East/West crossings at Chambers, Warren, Murray, Albany and West Thames Streets plus the north sidewalk of Pier A Plaza. Battery Park City residents are encouraged to stay indoors when possible to avoid the expected high winds and cold temperatures. We also advise residents to stay out of the parks during the height of the storm as falling tree branches can pose a significant risk. Stay tuned to further updates as the storm progresses.
