YOUNG ARTISTS’ WORKSHOP (Session 2)

On Saturday, June 17, BPC Parks hosted the second and final Young Artists’ Workshop of the summer season. More than 100 attendees of all ages came made their way to Rockefeller Park with blankets and mats to sit and enjoy Julie Pasqual’s vivid storytelling and dynamic performance. Her dramatic poetry reading of Today I Feel Silly: And Other Moods That Make My Day was fun to watch and a delightful experience for all.

The workshop portion of the event included lots of movement and theatrical game play, and both kids and grown-ups alike were active participants. Julie’s ability to capture an audience is incredible, and everyone found themselves engaged throughout the session. Some unfortunate rainfall led the event to wrap up a little early, but the audience was happy to have had the opportunity to bring the poetry to life.

And if you like storytelling there’s more to come soon. Be sure to attend our next Storytelling session on July 15 in Teardrop Park, as Charlotte Blake Alston presents her highly-interactive “Come Tell with Me!” program – free as part of Battery Park City’s more than 600 summer programs and events!
