NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING FOR PROPOSED ISSUANCE OF BONDS TO REFINANCE A COMMUNITY CENTER AND FINANCE REPLACEMENTS THEREOF AND IMPROVEMENTS THERETO

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Battery Park City Authority doing business as Hugh L. Carey Battery Park City Authority (the “Authority”), will hold a public hearing on June 20, 2019, at 10:00 a.m., local time, at the office of the Authority  located at 200 Liberty Street, 24th Floor, New York, New York, in compliance with the provisions of Section 147(f) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended (the “Code”) to receive comments related to the proposed issuance by the Authority under Section 145(a) of the Code of one or more series of qualified 501(c)(3) bonds in an aggregate principal amount not to exceed $37,000,000 (the “Bonds”). The proceeds of the Bonds will be used to (i) refinance the capital and related costs of (a) a community center comprising two condominium units in the Liberty Green and the Liberty Luxe Condominiums in Battery Park City located at 212 North End Avenue, New York, New York and (b) a building at 211 North End Avenue, New York, New York (collectively, the “Facility”) originally financed by proceeds of the Authority’s Senior Revenue Bonds, Series 2009B (the ”2009B Bonds”), and (ii) finance replacements of and improvements to portions of the Facility and resiliency improvements to the land at and adjacent to the Facility.

The Facility consists of an approximately 55,000 square foot facility which includes two pools, a gymnasium, a fitness center, an auditorium and multi-purpose classrooms for community-based activities and programs and cultural programs.  The Facility is owned by the Authority and managed by Asphalt Green, Inc., a New York not-for-profit corporation and an organization described in Section 501(c)(3) of the Code, pursuant to a management services or similar agreement.

All interested individuals are invited to attend such hearing and to express their views regarding the Bonds and the Facility, orally and/or in writing. Should written comments be presented, three copies must be made available to Pamela Frederick, Chief Financial Officer, at the address provided below at or before the public hearing.
