WINTER WONDERLAND: What’s Open & Closed in BPC

Happy Snow Day!

As our Parks Operations team digs out from the first big storm of the season, please find the following information about what’s open and closed among Battery Park City’s public spaces.

What’s Open:

– Teardrop Park’s lawns are open for sledding

– Rockefeller Park’s North Lawn and the Wagner Park Terrace, already positioned for public access throughout the winter, remain open for socially-distanced recreation

– The BPC Ball Fields are open for free play until 8PM this evening. The fields will be closed tomorrow, Friday, December 18 for snow removal operations.

What’s Closed:

– Public restrooms at Wagner Park and Teardrop Park are closed and will reopen on Friday morning, December 18.

– The Irish Hunger Memorial is closed and will reopen on Friday morning, December 18.

The following areas are currently cautioned-off and will reopen as BPCA’s snow removal operations near completion:

– NYC Police Memorial Stairs

– Wagner Park Pavilion stairs

– South Cove bridge
