BUILDING A MORE RESILIENT BPC: COMMUNITY WORKSHOP

The Battery Park City Authority invites you to participate in a collaborative resilience assessment workshop on Wednesday, June 19, 6:00pmat the Museum of Jewish Heritage – A Living Memorial to the Holocaust.

This interactive session will be designed to leverage the insights and knowledge of Battery Park City stakeholders to create a holistic look at our resilience-building opportunities and challenges, with the end goal of identifying additional actions, or improving existing actions, that BPCA can take to improve its resilience.

“Urban resilience,” as defined by 100 Resilient Cities, goes beyond disaster risk and recovery to examine the capacity of individuals, communities, institutions, businesses, and systems within an urban area to survive, adapt, and grow – no matter what comes their way. While BPCA does not have direct control over all of the shocks and stresses affecting its stakeholders, with your input, 100RC will help us identify actions to mitigate negative effects and build co-benefits that exist within the Authority’s control. This information will help inform BPCA’s first-ever strategic plan, to be completed later this year.

Thank you again for your input and we look forward to seeing you!
