BPC PEOPLE – Emily Birdseye

Title: Senior Project Manager

Favorite BPC Spot: The Esplanade

Emily received a bachelor’s degree in history from Augusta University, and later had a career in NYC’s art community. Seeking to break into the non-profit sector, Emily joined the then-Battery Park City Parks Conservancy in 2014.

As Senior Project Manager of BPCA’s Administration Department, Emily has undertaken a variety of noteworthy projects, including Raining Poetry in Battery Park City; the BPCA Coloring Book; outdoor movies in Rockefeller Park; the Battery Park City Fun Map; Star Wars Day; and, most recently, our large-scale Pride flag installation at Nelson A. Rockefeller Park.

Her hobbies include fiction writing (she just finished her fourth novel, and her first published short story is scheduled to be released on August 20th), collecting vinyl records, listening to female fronted punk and indie rock, and producing podcasts. She currently resides in Brooklyn Heights with her partner, two dogs and cat.
