"Battery Park City and the Authority are not just about the buildings – it’s about the character of the community that has developed over time. Public space has had a new renaissance in New York City, but here in Battery Park City is where it started."

B.P.C. People – Freddy Belliard

Title: Ball Fields Coordinator
Favorite Battery Park City Spot: Community Center at Stuyvesant High School

In 2013, Freddy Belliard joined BPC Parks as the Events Coordinator at 6 River Terrace where visitors and residents may remember him as he oversaw various Parks Programming activities and community festivities. Today, Mr. Belliard has embraced his new role as Ball Fields Coordinator where he and his staff help facilitate games and free play while overseeing field activity by local community permit holders.

Prior to joining the team at Battery Park City, Freddy worked for the New York City Administration of Children Services (ACS), where he mentored at-risk youth from all five boroughs of New York City. During his time as a Juvenile Counselor, Freddy enjoyed working with adolescents as they strived to make a difference within their communities.

Born and raised in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn, NY, Freddy attended John Jay College where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration. Despite being a “city kid”, one of his favorite pastimes is hiking in Breakneck Ridge, NY along the scenic Hudson River. As a sports aficionado with a rumored NFL caliber throwing arm, he feels right at home on the Battery Park City Ball Fields where he shares in the delight of all who participate in friendly competition.
