Let it snow!
As our Parks Operations team digs out from the first big storm of the season, please find the following information about what’s open and closed among Battery Park City’s public spaces. For general storm updates, click here.
What’s Open:
– Teardrop Park North Lawn and Rockefeller Park North Lawn are open for sledding from 8AM-5PM.
– The BPC Ball Fields are open for free and permitted play until 8PM this evening, and from 9AM-8PM on Sunday.
What’s Closed:
– Public restrooms at Teardrop Park, the BPC Ball Fields, and Wagner Park; restrooms will re-open over the coming day in the order listed as snow removal operations proceed.
– Elevators at Robert R. Douglass / West Thames Bridge
– Teardrop Park North’s internal paths
– Irish Hunger Memorial
The following areas are currently cautioned-off and will reopen as BPCA’s snow removal operations near completion:
– Footpath surrounding Pier A
– NYC Police Memorial stairs
– South Cove Crown stairs
– South Cove Jetty bridge and stairs
– Stairs from BPC Ball Fields to BPC Ball Fields Terrace
– Wagner Park Pavilion stairs
